Hamoir is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Liège. On January 1st, 2004 Hamoir had a total population of 3,555(1,712 males and 1,843 females). The total area is 27.80 km² which gives a population density of 127.87 inhabitants per km².
These different villages and hamlets plunge their roots in the history of the Stavelot-Malmedy abbey, on which they were depending until the french revolution.
