Hanaro Telecom, Inc. (NASDAQ: hana (http://quotes.nasdaq.com/asp/SummaryQuote.asp?symbol=hana&selected=hana)) is a Seoul-based telecom company, one of the largest providers of high-speed broadbandinternet access in South Korea. The company also is one of the largest telephone companies in South Korea, one of only two companies liscensed to provide local telephone access. HanaroTelecom, South Korea’s second-largest broadband carrier, on Thursday unveiled its new corporate identity (CI), changing the company’s name and logo.
Yoon added that Hanaro selected the hummingbird as its logo since the bird’s nimbleness and agility aptly highlights the future path of the firm, which is competing with telecom behemoth KT.
Hanaro looks to make its presence felt in the domestic market by enhancing its market share to 6 percent by the end of this year from the current level of 4.5 percent.
