Hans Albert (1921-) is a German philosopher. He is a critical rationalist, giving special attention to rational heuristics. He is a strong criticizer of the continental hermeneutic tradition.
HansAlbert held the chair of 'Social Sciences and General Studies of Methods' at the University of Mannheim.
Albert's well known Munchhausen-Trilemma is ironically named after Baron Munchhausen, who allegedly pulled himself out of the quagmire seizing himself by his shock of hair.
HansAlbert is well and alive, and celebrated his 85th birthday on February 8th 2006 in Heidelberg/Germany.
