Trivia

  • Nobody knew the name of the Bugs Bunny prototype, until voice actor Mel Blanc talked about the origins of the character in a 1970s interview.
  • Most people believe Happy Rabbit is the prototypical Bugs Bunny, due to Bugs's voice in "Elmer's Pet Rabbit" which is the voice Happy Rabbit had in "Elmer's Candid Camera". They are both voiced by Mel Blanc.
  • Happy Rabbit's shorts have been shown on Cartoon Network's June Bugs marathon, which is strictly devoted to Bugs Bunny cartoons.
  • In Elmer's Candid Camera, Happy Rabbit is very similar to Bugs Bunny, and the personality is somewhat similar to the famous rabbit. The only major difference is that Happy Rabbit in this short has apricot-colored gloves and muzzle, furrier tail, black nose, black-tipped ears, and different voice.
