Haveri is a city in Karnataka state of southern India. It is the administrative headquarters of Haveri District. The name Haveri has derived from Kannada words Havu+keri, that means Snake+place. Haveri is famous for the Cardamom garlands. As per saying Haveri had around 1000 matts( sacred religion place) in ancient days.
