An exhibition on 'Headley by the Wey' was held at the Rural Life Centre, Tilford from Mar-May 2001 – it was disassembled, and the material stored in the Headley Archives room – displayed again in Headley Village Hall during the Golden Jubilee weekend, 1 and 2 June 2002.
Headley is a parish with a long history but, as in the case of very many isolated settlements of Saxon and later times, very little is known of its earliest days.
Fortunately, the living of Headley was then of some value, and so in 1872 he became Rector and his almost historic incumbency did not end till he died in harness in 1928.
