Herentals is a municipality located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the Flemish province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the city of Herentals proper and the towns of Morkhoven and Noorderwijk. On January 1st, 2004 Herentals had a total population of 25,869 (12,752 males and 13,117 females). The total area is 48.56 km� which gives a population density of 532.71 inhabitants per km�.
