The horror films that have been released do not give me that feeling that I had watching the films of the 80’s horror heyday.
The films run the gamut from being really bland, (The Urban Legend Films, Valentine, They) being too self aware, (Scream 2 and 3) a joke, (Jason X) or are disgustingly overrated to the point that the fan worship grates your nerves, (You hear that Blair Witch Project and 28 Day’s Later?)
While the respect for the horror genre is apparent throughout the film, the execution sadly falls short.
