Yasuhara worked on a majority of subsequent Sonic titles and was later hired on at Naughty Dog to work on the Jak & Daxter series.
By pure coincidence, Yasuhara had separately also decided to work at SOA in a program Cerny had established whereby experienced Japanese designers would come over and teach tricks of the trade to newer employees.
Among the most influential of these were Shinobu Toyoda, head of the group; HirokazuYasuhara, the game planner; Yuji Naka, the lead programmer; and Naoto Ohshima, the character designer.
HirokazuYasuhara was also in the US as part of an internal Sega talent exchange and the newly formed Sega Technical Institue thus began work on a couple of Sonic sequels.
In 2002, Yasuhara left Sega where, according to Naka, he had become "useless," and joined friends from the former Sega Technical Institute at Naughty Dog.
