Hubbard County is a county located in the state of Minnesota. As of 2000, the population is 18,376. Its county seat is Park Rapids6. Geography According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,588 km˛ (999 mi˛). 2,389 km˛ (922 mi˛) of it is land and 199 km˛ (77 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 7.70% water.

There are 12,229 housing units at an average density of 5/km˛ (13/mi˛). The racial makeup of the county is 96.31% White, 0.17% Black or African American, 2.13% Native American, 0.27% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.22% from other races, and 0.89% from two or more races. 0.67% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 7,435 households out of which 29.30% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.10% are married couples living together, 7.10% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.10% are non-families. 24.20% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.30% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.45 and the average family size is 2.88. In the county the population is spread out with 24.60% under the age of 18, 6.40% from 18 to 24, 24.10% from 25 to 44, 26.90% from 45 to 64, and 18.00% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 42 years. For every 100 females there are 99.90 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.00 males. The median income for a household in the county is $35,321, and the median income for a family is $41,177. Males have a median income of $30,030 versus $21,616 for females.
