Hughesville is a village located in Pettis County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 174.

Geography

Hughesville is located at 38°50'13" North, 93°17'45" West (38.837047, -93.295824)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²). 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 174 people, 65 households, and 49 families residing in the village. The population density is 610.7/km² (1,527.5/mi²). There are 69 housing units at an average density of 242.2/km² (605.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.28% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 1.72% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.57% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 65 households out of which 38.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.7% are married couples living together, 9.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.1% are non-families. 16.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.68 and the average family size is 3.10.
