HULL, or KINGSTON-UPON-HULL is a borough and county of itself, and one of the principal seaports of the United Kingdom.
It is the chief town in the East Riding of Yorkshire, and is situated on the north side of the estuary of the Humber, where it is joined by the river Hull.
The citadel, which is on the east bank of the river Hull, at its junction with the Humber, is surrounded by a wall, with ramparts and ditches, and is occupied by a regular garrison.
