While Terrans don't have any (physical) advantages compared to other species, like Vulcans who can become hundreds of years old and Klingons who are far more physically resilient, there are more adaptable capable of living in a much more varied set of enviroments, this is the primary reason why the majority the federation's disparite colony worlds are inhabited by humans, effectively a Terran diaspora, Terrans also use their emotions to their advantage. Unlike Vulcans who preferably suppress emotion instead of embracing it as a part of themselves, emotion can drive humans to go beyond boundaries which could be seen as unreachable by members of other species. Star Trek collectively refers to a science-fiction franchise spanning six unique television series, 726 episodes and ten motion pictures in addition to hundreds of novels, video games, fan stories and other works of fiction all set within the same fictional universe created by Gene Roddenberry in the mid-1960s.
Star Trek originated as a television series in 1966, although according to The Making of Star Trek by Stephen E. Whitfield and Gene Roddenberry, it had been in the planning stages for at least six years prior to this.
Star Trek: Voyager (also known as ST:VOY, ST:VGR, VOY or Voyager) was produced for seven seasons, and is the only Star Trek series to have had a female, Captain Kathryn Janeway, as the commanding officer.
