The Bowie Railroad Station and the Huntington Railroad Museum are owned and operated by the City of Bowie, MD. They display photographs of the early years in Bowie, as well as a number of railroad artifacts. A 1922 Norfolk and Western Railroad caboose rests on the museum grounds as well. The City of Bowie fortunately purchased the buildings from the railroad and located them together on the current museum site in 1991. Thes buildings were then restored in collaboration with the Huntington Heritage Society, Inc.
The Museum always welcomes volunteers from the members of the Huntington Heritage Society, Inc.
The buildings are located at 8614 Chestnut Avenue, near the intersections of 11th Street, close to the rail line. The City of Bowie maintains six sites in its museum system. For more information, phone the office at 301-809-3088.
