Hyde Park is a village located in Lamoille County, Vermont. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 415.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.0 km² (1.2 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 415 people, 192 households, and 111 families residing in the village. The population density is 137.0/km² (355.7/mi²). There are 207 housing units at an average density of 68.3/km² (177.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.55% White, 0.96% Black or African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.24% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.24% from two or more races. 0.48% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 192 households out of which 23.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.3% are married couples living together, 9.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 41.7% are non-families. 34.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.16 and the average family size is 2.75.

In the village the population is spread out with 19.8% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 25.8% from 25 to 44, 29.6% from 45 to 64, and 18.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 44 years. For every 100 females there are 92.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 85.0 males.

The median income for a household in the village is $35,781, and the median income for a family is $50,000. Males have a median income of $35,357 versus $26,016 for females. The per capita income for the village is $22,790. 5.6% of the population and 2.0% of families are below the poverty line.
