Earth-31916: Supreme Power This version of Hyperion is an alien sent to Earth as a baby, and is raised a secret faction of American scientists in a secret compound. Raised by a pseudo-family, the boy discovers that he has superhuman powers and is manipulated into becoming a weapon for the U.S. government. Given the public codename of Hyperion, he eventually questions his role and origin, leading to his attempted murder by the government. Hyperion then travels the US, where he also encounters and aids Nighthawk and The Blur in the hunt for a super-powered serial killer. This partnership and Hyperion's estrangement from the US government eventually leads to the formation of the Squadron Supreme and the government reveal to the world that Hyperion is in fact an alien. An angry Hyperion then flies into the Arctic at velocity speed and causes massive shockwaves around the world. He then warns the governments of the world to stay out of his affairs.
