Hyuga Province - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (104 words)
	Hyuga (æ¥åå½; HyÅ«ga no kuni) was an old province of Japan on the east coast of Kyushu, corresponding to the modern Miyazaki prefecture.
	Hyuga bordered on Bungo, Higo, Osumi, and Satsuma Provinces.
	During the Sengoku period, the area was often divided into a northern fief around Agata castle (near modern Nobeoka), and a southern fief around Obi castle, near modern Nichinan.

	Nichijô was a priest of the Nichiren sect of Buddhism from Izumo Province and was an ardent opponent of Christianity.
	Chachamaru was the son of Ashikaga Masatomo and resided at Horigoe Castle in Izu Province.
	Sadahide served Asai Nagamasa and was the keeper of Yamamotoyama Castle on the northeastern shore of Lake Biwa in Ômi Province.
