Overview

Produced by Alex Perialas (Anthrax, Testmant), I Hear Black was the first Overkill album released directly through Atlantic Records. The album once again presented a change in style for the band, from the up-tempo thrash of Horrorscope to a more groovy, song oriented style, influenced by Black Sabbath and Blues. The eclectic nature of the album is often attributed to the fact that many different song writers were involved. Verni and Ellsworth would handle most of the song writing themselves on subsequent albums, with only minor contributions from the other members. A music video was shot for "Spiritual Void" but failed to receive much airplay. The European leg of the 1993 "World Of Hurt Tour" featured Savatage and Non-Fiction as support acts. Testament (a. ... 400,000 black men hear call to fight wickedness (1169 words)
WASHINGTON -- Black men turned out en masse Monday in one of the largest public demonstrations in American history, and many of them roared approval as Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan delivered a keynote speech that called upon them to stand against spiritual and social wickedness.
In a wide-ranging, two-hour speech that often sounded like a history lesson intermingled with a Sunday sermon, Farrakhan said America is in the midst of a racial divide not because of his remarks but because of the historical effects of slavery that have never been adequately dealt with.
Black men had been asked to gather at the Capitol to repent to God for moral failures and to recommit to family values and community development.
