The IFNA World Rankings are published to make it possible to publish comparisons of the relative strengths of internationally active netball teams. They are based on the results from the Netball World Championships, and released after the conclusion of each event, every four years.

Like basketball, the game is played on a hard court with scoring rings at both ends, and with a ball resembling a basketball (but much lighter and slightly softer in construction).
