Biography

He was educated in Glasgow, Scotland at Willowbank Primary School, Hillhead High School and studied at Jordanhill College School leaving in 1968. In the early 1970s, he worked as assistant editor, assistant director, production manager on numerous short films, commercials and children's feature films. An Editor is a person who prepares text—typically language, but also images and sounds—for publication by correcting, condensing, or otherwise modifying it. ...


In 1976, he established Smith Schorstein Associates Ltd and went on to produce film. Has contributed to many film industry committees in the UK and is currently a Board member of the UK Film Council, Scottish Screen, the Production Guild of Great Britain and the Children's Film and Television Foundation.
