Illas is an asturian county located in the western central part of Asturias and delimited by the counties of Castrillón, Candamo, Llanera and Corvera de Asturias. It has a surface of 25, 1 Km2 and a population of around 1150 inhabitants (in 2005). Geography

The area of Illas is full of hills; there is the Pico Gorfolí, with a height of 619 m. above sea level. From there, you can enjoy a wonderfull view of the County of Avilés, Cabo Peñas. The county has and economy based os the agricultural and cattle dealing sector, wich is reflected in two kinds of cheeses, the cheese of La Peral and Taborneda known as "Gorfolí".
