Indira Point formerly (Pygmallion Point) situated in Andaman and Nicobar islands is the southernmost tip of India. Though Kanyakumari is the southernmost tip of the Indian penninsula, Indira point was the furthest south on Indian soil until the Tsunami claimed most of the area. Geologists however have stated that the sea is slowly starting to retreat back to the original position, which would enable the resurfacing of Indira point where the lighthouse is partially submerged under sea.
