This page lists the infantry units available to the Global Liberation Army (GLA) in the real-time strategy PC game Command & Conquer: Generals and its expansion pack Zero Hour. All GLA infantry can be garrisioned in civilian buildings, which increases their range and provides additional protection from enemy units, but while garrisoned they are extremely vulnerable to flashbangs from United States Army Rangers, bunker busters from F-117 Nighthawks, ignited napalm from Chinese Dragon tanks, and anthrax toxin streams from GLA Toxin tractors. Wokers are strictly a non-combat unit; they mount no weapon and therefore rely on others for defense. They are also slow-moving, requiring several seconds to traverse even short distances to reach their destinations. Their usage in repair and demining tasks are complementary, in the sense that both games feature self-repair capability for GLA structures, and the enemy units that place explosives on the field can be detected and eliminated before the need to disarm them arises. Workers can be upgraded with shoes in Zero Hour, improving their overall efficiency in movement and resource-gathering operations. The upgrade's mere existence is made hilarious by the fact that it was inspired by one of the worker's lines in the original game, "Can I have some shoes?".
Rebel The basic infantry unit of the GLA is the rebel, a unit that fills the role of rifle infantry for the GLA. Armed with AK-47s, these light infantry are the only GLA units capable of capturing neutral and enemy structures, effectively replacing the engineer of previous Command & Conquer games. To capture a structure these infantrymen approach the building in question and raise a GLA flag, when the flag is fully deployed the structure comes under GLA control. These are also the only the only GLA units that can place booby traps (only available in Zero Hour) on friendly or neutral structures to prevent them from being captured or garrisonned by enemy forces. GLA RPG Troopers in Zero Hour These infantry units are the anti-armour counterpart to the Rebel. Terrorist
GLA Terrorists in Zero Hour Terrorists are simply GLA fanatics. They would strap C4 onto their bodies and run towards their enemies, detonator in hand, in a suicidal attempt to reach them and blow himself up, causing immense damage to nearby units. These units can commandeer civilian vehicles and use them to speed up the process of reaching enemy assets. Terrorists are vulnerable to enemy anti-personnel weaponry, and will automatically blow up upon death if finished off with an explosive weapon such as a Tomahawk or tank shell. However, if they are killed by bullets, flame, or toxins, they will not explode. Image File history File links GLA_Terrorist_(C&CG). ...

Hijacker
GLA Hijackers in Zero Hour The hijacker can only be obtained through the expenditure of a General's Point, but once obtained hijackers can be built for the remainder of the round. A hijacker carries no weapon, but can seize any enemy vehicle currently on the ground, turning them into GLA units that can be operated by the player. When a hijacked vehical is destroyed the hijacker reappears on the battlefield, and may be used to hijack another enemy vehicle. Image File history File links GLA_Hijacker_(C&CG). ...

Jarmen Kell Jarmen Kell is the GLA hero unit. A hawk-eyed mercenary sniper with a good sniper rifle, Jarmen Kell can kill any enemy infantry unit in one hit. He remains stealthed when not engaging a target, and will not expose a building if he garrisons it. Jarmen Kell's aim is so immaculate that he can kill the driver of a vehicle and render it available for capture; for the sake of game balance, this ability can only be used every once in a while. Angry Mob
A GLA Angry Mob in Zero Hour By far the most powerful non-hero infantry units, Angry Mobs are a mass of enraged civilians that wreak havoc on enemy units and structures; in effect they are like rioters. They can tear apart even buildings and heavily-armoured vehicles apart with ease if no effective anti-personnel counters are available to stop them. Furthering reinforcing the stereotype of an unruly and violent Middle-Eastern mob, they attack with molotov cocktails and Uzis (Israeli 9mm sub-machine gun) and can be upgraded with AK-47 assault rifles, which just makes them considerably even more deadly. In fact, many players consider the upgraded mob to be the most powerful unit in the entire game as its able to hold it's own against at least two Overloard Tanks. Stinger Soldier Only seen on guard duty in Stinger Site structures in-game, the stinger soldier is the GLA's most effective anti-armour and anti-aircraft unit. This man fires a FIM-92 Stinger missile at aerial and ground threats, and when used en masse they can also down large enemy ordnance such as BGM-109 Tomahawk cruise missiles. These infantry units cannot be crushed by enemy armour, but are vulnerable to enemy anti-infantry equipment. The Stinger Soldier cannot be trained, and comes in groups of three in GLA Stinger Sites, although they are seen operating outside of the Stinger Site in certain solo player missions. If one dies while on duty in a Site, he is shortly replaced by a new one. Saboteur (Zero Hour only)
GLA Sabatours in Zero Hour GLA Saboteurs are specially-trained stealth infantry that upon entering an enemy base, can perform a number of operations dependant upon what structure is entered. Examples include stealing cash, resetting the radar map, disabling the power supply, and so forth. Saboteurs do not carry a weapon, and rely on other units for defense. Another unique feature they possess is the ability to climb cliffs. Image File history File links GLA_Sabatour_(C&CG). ...
