Ingallston Township is a township located in Menominee County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 1,042.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 185.5 km² (71.6 mi²). 183.4 km² (70.8 mi²) of it is land and 2.1 km² (0.8 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.14% water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 1,042 people, 456 households, and 316 families residing in the township. The population density is 5.7/km² (14.7/mi²). There are 758 housing units at an average density of 4.1/km² (10.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 98.27% White, 0.00% African American, 0.67% Native American, 0.48% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.58% from two or more races. 0.10% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 456 households out of which 23.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.7% are married couples living together, 4.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.7% are non-families. 27.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.29 and the average family size is 2.77.
