Observation and history
The day was created and first celebrated in 1998, when the concept was proposed in the online pedophile and ephebophile community. Since then the day has become established and is regularly observed by members of the community.[1]
The originally suggested way of observing IBLD was to leave a small blue candle in a window or at a different public place together with a note explaining its purpose. Another activity that had been popularly suggested was to send anonymous notes to local newspapers.
