Actions that may be taken can be as simple as counter scams, or as complicated as a co-ordinated humiliation or action. An example of this is scambaiting that is meant to waste the scammer's time and humiliate them. Some of this vigilantism has surprisingly ended up assisting the police in their investigation of such scams.
