Interstate 985 (abbreviated I-985) begins at Interstate 85 mile 113 near Suwanee and continues northward to the north Georgia city of Gainesville. I-985 is also known as the Sidney Lanier Parkway and as unsigned Georgia State Route 419. The highway was built in the mid 1960s as S.R. 365 and was given the I-985 designation in 1985. It is co-signed with both U.S. 23 and S.R. 365, which were moved onto the interstate when it was built.
