Invictus Records was a record label created by Eddie Holland, Lamont Dozier and Brian Holland. Until 1967 they were the top composers and producers for Motown Records, but for better control and greater rewards they launched Invictus along with Hot Wax Records in 1968. Their most successful acts were Freda Payne and Chairmen of the Board. Edward Holland, Jr. ... Lamont Dozier, along with the brothers Brian Holland and Edward Holland, Jr. ... Brian Holland, his brother Edward Holland, Jr. ... Motown, also known as Tamla-Motown outside the U.S., is a record label founded on December 14, 1959 by Berry Gordy, Jr. ... Hot Wax Records was a record label created by Eddie Holland, Lamont Dozier and Brian Holland. ... Freda Charcelia Payne (born on September 19, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan) is an African-American singer and actress. ...


For contractual reasons the names Holland/Dozier/Holland were not used until 1970 (releases were initially credited to Dunbar and Wayne).


Both labels stopped in 1973 when Lamont Dozier left to forge a solo career.
