 | Ipala is a tiny village hooked in behind the only sheltered point for 60 miles after Cabo Corrientes, its an ideal place to wait out North winds if you are heading North. |
 | Within 2 hours of sitting in Ipala we were visited by 3 of the locals, we heard splashing and looked over to see 2 boys and a girl who were taking advantage of their last day of holiday before school started again. |
 | Its 53 miles SE of Ipala and no were to hide if the weather got really bad, fortunately the winds at this time of the year are pretty much all from the North, so at least its downwind. |

 | Ipala is such a small and marginal anchorage that I was hoping there wouldn’t be many boats already seeking refuge there, in which case we probably wouldn’t be able to find a sheltered spot to anchor. |
 | Roca Heddy lies at 20°14.23‚N by 105°34.31‚W. At the head of Ipala Cove is a small reef, and to the west of the tiny village is a short rock jetty with pangas anchored off it. |
 | Outside Ipala, the sea was still flat because the wind was still northeast, and we were in the lee of Cabo Corrientes. |
