The Irish Aviation Authority is responsible for the regulation of air travel in Ireland and in Irish airspace. It performs much the same function as the Civil Aviation Authority in the United Kingdom.

Irish Aviation Authority - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (401 words)
The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), or Údaras Eithlíochta na hÉireann in Irish, is a state owned company and is responsible for the regulation of air travel in the Republic of Ireland and of the main international airports including Dublin, Cork and Shannon.
The authority was established under the Irish Aviation Authority Act, 1993.
The authority is also responsible for providing communications in Shanwick airspace, with NATS providing the ATC in Prestwick.
