Irreligion is the absence of religious following. Although people classified as irreligious do not follow a religion, it does not necessarily imply a lack of belief in a god or gods; such a person may be a non-religious or non-practicing theist, rather than an atheist or agnostic, although most people who declare themselves irreligious are not theists.

Most irreligious individuals, quite understandably, do not like to acknowledge the inevitable and logical consequence of their irreligiosity that life is ultimately purposeless.
Irreligious people, including atheists, are just as likely to have meaningful lives as any religious person.
Secular and irreligious are not the same as atheistic; many secular individuals believe in G-d and therefore whatever meaning accrues from having a belief in G-d, they, too, have.
