The racial makeup of the county is 97.65% White, 0.26% Black or African American, 0.58% Native American, 0.38% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.17% from other races, and 0.94% from two or more races. 0.83% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 11,236 households out of which 38.10% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.10% are married couples living together, 8.40% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.10% are non-families. 20.10% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.20% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.74 and the average family size is 3.15.
