The Isthmian League First Division North was a football division of the Isthmian League in the UK for two seasons from 2002-03 till 2003-04. It is being resurrected for the 2006-07 season. It runs in parallel to the Isthmian League First Division South, and its champions are promoted to the Isthmian League Premier Division. Football is a ball game played between two teams of eleven players, each attempting to win by scoring more goals than their opponent. ... History

The league was formed from a merger of the Isthmian League First Division and the Isthmian League Second Division at the end of the 2001-02 season. The idea was to reduce travel distance for teams in the Isthmian league. The Isthmian League First Division (also known for sponsorship reasons as the Ryman League First Division) is part of the Isthmian League, an English association football league. ... However, the creation of the Conference South reduced the number of teams in the Isthmian League, meaning only one First Division was necessary. The F.A., however, decided that there should be 6, rather than 4, 'step four' divsions of the National League System, again to reduce travel costs. As a result, the First Division North will be reformed for the 2006-07 season, taking teams from the various leagues below it. Conference South (often referred to as Nationwide South for sponsorship reasons) is one of the second divisions of the Football Conference in England, taking its place immediately below the Conference National. ... Town were admitted to the Essex Senior League for the 2001-02 season and enjoyed a succesful first campaign, winning the Essex Senior League Cup, the Cherry Red Books Trophy and the Middlesex Senior Charity Cup and finishing second in the Essex Senior League.
The following season, Town won the League Championship, but were not promoted as the facilities at Brimsdown were not sufficient to meet the requirements of the Isthmian League.

From 1973-74, and the introduction of the Isthmian League Second Division, till 1976-77, this league was actually named the 'Isthmian League First Division'; it was rebranded the Premiership upon the introduction of a third layer to the Isthmian League
Prior to the 2004-2005 season, the division winners were promoted to the Football Conference (along with the Northern Premier League and Southern League winners), while the lowest placed teams were in recent seasons relegated to either the Isthmian League Division One North or the Isthmian League Division One South.
