In Aztec mythology, Itzpapalotl ("Clawed Butterfly" or "Obsidian Butterfly") was a fearsome skeletal goddess, who ruled over the paradise world of Tomoanchan. She is particularly associated with the moth Rothschildia Orizaba from the family saturnidae.
