John F. Kennedy Stadium (originally known as Municipal Stadium, later also referred to as JFK Stadium) was a stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that stood from 1925-1992. The stadium consisted of a horseshoe surrounding a track and football field, with bleachers at the open end. The stadium may have sat up to 100,000 in the early years, though this was reduced to nearer 75,000 in later years.
The stadium was not well maintained over the years, and was condemned in the late 1980s. It was demolished in 1992. The Wachovia Center now stands on the site.
JFK was not a good place for shows to begin with, but the band had their self-loathing "We've sold out vibe" frothing with their "We ARE the only band that matters" swagger, and it just really hit the crowd poorly.
Ebet Roberts is a well known photograher from the Philly area and she was also a good friend of "The Hooters" and did many photo shoots of the Hooters and probably was there at the JFK show since The Hooters opened that show.
