James Sheakley (April 24, 1829December 11, 1917) was an American Democratic politician who was the Governor of the District of Alaska from 1893 to 1897. He was also a member of the United States House of Representatives from Pennsylvania from 1875 to 1877. He was born in Sheakleyville, Pennsylvania and died at and was buried in Greenville, Pennsylvania.

Sheakley was a member of the St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church in East Brady.
Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, Madison Sheakley of East Brady, Tyler Anderson of Karns City, Xander Sheakley of East Butler, Grace Crouch of Butler, and Ava Sheakley of East Brady; a sister-in-law, Katherine DeCorte of Nickleville, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Henry Sheakley on April 13, 1973; a daughter, Susan Lynn Sheakley on July 28, 1958; and two brothers, Charles DeCorte and Thomas DeCorte.
