History

The character of Jamie was first introduced around 1998. Jamie arrived in Walford after the death of his father. He was about 16. His second cousin once removed and godfather, Phil Mitchell, took him in after realising Jamie's uncle and caretaker, Billy, used to beat him on a regular basis. Jamie became Phil's surrogate son, replacing Ben, and he stood up to Billy, at one point battering him when Billy tried to beat him up. Billy softened and changed his whole character, and Jamie learned to forgive him. Phillip James Phil Mitchell is a long-running fictional character in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders. ... Sonia & Jamie

Jamie started a relationship with Sonia Jackson, his first true love, after losing his virginity to Janine Butcher. A few months into the relationship, Sonia gave birth to Chloe, at just 15 years of age. The child was that of Martin Fowler, who she'd had sex with before she met Jamie. She didn't even know that she was carrying a baby. Baby Chloe was put up for adoption. It was a blow to their relationship but they made it. Image File history File links Sonia&Jamie. ... He proposed and she accepted, but he slept with Zoe Slater, who had been pursuing him for a while. He and Sonia consequently split up, but after Phil disowned him and battered him for letting Lisa run off to Portugal with his daughter, Louise, it was Sonia who nursed him back to health, and they got engaged again, leaving her boyfriend, Gus Smith, heart-broken as he also planned to propose. Sonia's ex-boyfriend, Martin Fowler interfered again by accidentally running over Jamie outside the Walford tube station, and he died tragically on Christmas Day 2002 of spleen damage. The same day his uncle Billy married Little Mo.
Sonia has since forgiven Martin for the problems with their daughter, Chloe/Rebecca, and for killing Jamie, and in a unlikely twist she and Martin fell in love and married in 2004. Phil Mitchell - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (1192 words)
The Mitchell brothers had fallen out after Grant slept with Phil's ex-wife Kathy (possibly in revenge for the "Sharongate" saga), and while fleeing in a getaway car from a "job" that had gone wromg, Phil confronted Grant and the two entered into a heated argument.
Peggy Mitchell had also employed the help of what was - according to Johnny Allen - one of the most crooked lawyers in London.
She moved in with him, and eventually Phil and the rest of the Mitchells slowly pushed Lisa away from her daughter until she was a virtual stranger.
