Biography

Jamie grew up near Bournemouth, spent his early 20s in Southampton, and was active in many bands from his early teens, most notably Thermal, Real/Sweet/Deal, and Sweet Sweet Cheree. He dropped out of studying Philosophy at the University of Greenwich, instead working in a succession of record shops. Jamie formed the band, initially known as Klaxons (Not Centaurs), when he approached Finnegan Kid to accompany him to play drums early one November morning and then later went on to recruit Simon Taylor, a housemate of a former girlfriend of his.
