Alemannia Aachen

He transferred to Alemannia Aachen in 2004 where he became a striker and was elevated to Captain for much of the first half of the season. He wore the number 19 shirt and had a breakthrough season in the Bundesliga, which led to his international debut which came against Georgia in October 2006. Aachen were promoted to the Bundesliga in the 2006-07 season as champions of the 2. Bundesliga, but were relegated just after one season. Schlaudraff didn't have to play at 2. During the winter break 2006, Jan secured a move from Alemania Aachen to Bayern Munich, which started July 1, 2007 for a transfer fee of 1.2 m €. The competition for him was fierce, since he had Klose, Toni and Podolski ahead of him. Coach Ottmar Hitzfeld chose to use Schlaudraff as a substitute in a few matches and in most cases as an attacking midfielder. However, Jan made it to the starting 11 for the first time while being in FC Bayern versus rivals MSV Duisburg. He didn't manage to score any goals for the German Bundesliga but he scored ten goals in friendly matches.
