Jann Carl (born May 19, 1960 in Carthage, Missouri) is a well-known Los Angeles-based newsreader and, since 1995, correspondent for Entertainment Tonight. She is a graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism at University of Missouri-Columbia. Ms. Carl is married to David Sears and has two children, Katherine and Matthew, the latter possibly suffering from epilepsy. Aside from her ET duties this past year, Carl appeared as herself in Warren Beatty's feature film, "Bulworth" and co-hosted the nationally syndicated "Blockbuster Entertainment Awards." She also co-hosted, with Jerry Lewis, the Labor Day Telethon for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and received the MDA's Paragon Award.
Before coming to ET, Carl was co-anchor of Los Angeles' #1 rated "News at Ten" broadcast for KTLA-TV, a station she joined in 1987.
A native of Carthage, MO, Carl graduated from the University of Missouri, with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism.
