Career

NWA Wildside

Cross debuted in the Georgia-based NWA Wildside promotion in 1998, and won the NWA Wildside Heavyweight Championship from David Young in Cornelia, Georgia on June 1, 2002. He held the title for just ten days before announcing his retirement from wrestling and vacating the title on June 11. However, his retirement did not last long. Upon his return, Cross turned heel and sided with Jeff G. Bailey's NWA Elite faction, betraying Rick Michaels in the process. The newly turned Cross then went on an undefeated streak, at one point "retiring" Altar Boy Luke. With the help of the rest of NWA Elite, Cross defeated Caprice Coleman for the NWA Wildside Television Championship on March 27, 2004 in Cornelia. He held the title until July 3, when he lost to Jeremy V. Two months later, he regained the NWA Wildside Heavyweight Championship by defeating Onyx. His second reign lasted until December 4 of that year, when he lost to Ray Gordy. NWA Wildside was an American independent professional wrestling promotion based in Cornelia, Georgia, with an office in Atlanta, Georgia, operating between September 1999 and April 2005. ... Total Nonstop Action Wrestling

Cross debuted in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling on January 15, 2003, losing to David Young in a match which saw him suffer a broken hand and crushed knuckle. He competed sporadically for TNA throughout 2003, at one point unsuccessfully challenging Kid Kash for the TNA X Division Championship. Cross was absent from TNA for most of 2004, but returned in August, facing A.J. Styles on several occasions. Cross joined GCW in 2004, and won the GCW United States Junior Heavyweight Championship on September 7, defeating the wrestler in Columbus, Georgia. He lost the title to Glen Gilberti on October 14, but regained it on November 27 of that year in a three way match which also included Nigel McGuinness. His second reign continued into 2005, but on February 20 he was stripped of the title after he was disqualified during a title defence against David Young and attacked the referee in a fit of anger.
