John French (born July 20, 1952), better known with his stage name Jay Jay French or J.J. French, is the founding member and one of the two guitarists of the American heavy metal band, Twisted Sister. He was born John Segall but he has stated John French is his real name. He briefly used the stage name Johnny Heartbreaker in the first years of his career. He's also the owner of French Management and "Rebellion Entertainment" along with his business partner, Sean Sullivan. He has one 13 year old daughter named Samantha who attends Columbia Grammar and Prepatory School, and a brother 9 1/2 years his senior, Jeff Segall who gave the young John his first guitar lessons. John and Samantha currently reside in New York City. He divorced his former wife, Janice Brock, in 2002. She is also living in New York City. It was when J.J was recovering from a serious bout of mononucleosis that the young man who would one day become J.J. French, first heard rock 'n' roll while scanning the AM dial. He was immediately stung by the rock bug and knew at once that this is what he wanted to do with his life.
