When still a teenager in the late 1970s, Dee illustrated numerous material for the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons (AD&D) including interior artwork for manuals and illustrations and covers for adventure modules for the game. Sutherland III and David A. Trampier, Dee is recognized of one of the first-generation D&D artists, providing artwork as settings for imaginary worlds and adventures.
