Jenny was born in Washington, DC to an African-American mother and an Irish-American father. At an early age Jenny moved to Larchmont, NY and attended Chatsworth Avenue School and then Mamaroneck High School. Jenny was raised Catholic and attended St. Augustine's in Larchmont. In the 5th grade she broke her leg during a school trip to the Bronx Zoo. Jenny was always loveable and her success in Hollywood does not surprise those her knew her as a child. Both her parents had jobs at IBM. When she was a child Jenny and her two sisters all wanted to be Diana Ross and would sing every song from The Wiz.


Bransford has appeared in many movies and television series, including a FOX network series Jonny Zero and the Jon Favreau/Vince Vaughn comedy, Made in 2001. Bransford is also known for her work on soap operas. She portrayed the roles of Georgie Phillips on One Life to Live from June 1997 to July 1998, the character's entire run, and Carly Alcazar on General Hospital from April 2005 to October 2005. General Hospital later replaced her with Laura Wright. Bransford was expected to make her mark and impact immediately but it was an impact however that may not have been what anyone expected.
Bransford was never afforded the opportunity to develop her own relationships, off camera with the other actors so that she could bring those dynamics to the role.
The downward spiral of the character is of course not Jennifer Bransford’s fault in any way, it’s the writing, but her natural acting tendencies seemed to support the direction, leaving me always wondering which came first, the chicken or the egg.
