Martin holds the B.A. degree in Music Education from California State University, Fullerton, and the M.M. degree in Conducting from the University of Redlands.
Martin has taught at conducting symposia in Oregon and Washington, and her research interests include conducting pedagogy, and the music of Percy Grainger and John Philip Sousa.
Martin is a member of the American Symphony Orchestra League, the Conductors Guild, the College Band Directors National Association, the California Band Directors Association, and she serves of the Board of the Music Association of California Community Colleges.
