Jette is one of the nineteen municipalities located in the Brussels-Capital Region of Belgium. On January 1st, 2004 the municipality had a total population of 41,938 (19,415 males and 22,523 females). The total area is 5.04 kmē which gives a population density of 8,315.59 inhabitants per kmē.
Jette-Ives is the amalgamation of writer/singer Jette Kelly and composer/producer Holmes Ives.

The domain, including the five villages of Jette, Ganshoren, Releghem, Hamme and Bever, and the title were transfered by marriage to Paul-Philippe de Villegas, whose family kept the domain until the French Revolution.
It was indeed the seal of the échevins (municipal magistrates) of the county of Saint-Pierre Jette.
