Before his 2000AD work, Baikie had been known principally for his work in TV comics of the 1970's and 80's, working alongside Angus Allen.
SKIZZ, as realised by Alan Moore and JimBaikie, does bear certain (and to be sure, deliberate) similarities to Spielberg's touchy-feely close encounter.
JimBaikie's thin, scratchy artwork does ample justice to the characters described above, and the surroundings they exist in.
The depiction of Skizz's technology (and by extension, that of his race) is one such example, while the moments involving Cornelius in full flight are among the story's highlights.
