Jim Berry was a cartoonist who created the comic strip Berry's World. He received the National Cartoonist Society Newspaper Panel Cartoon Award for the series for 1965, 1966, and 1972. For his work on Berry at the Democratic Convention he received their Special Features Award for 1972. Berrys World was the title of a comic strip by Jim Berry which ran from 1969 through 1990. ... Jim was born and raised in the small farm community of Caro, in Michigan's Thumb region.After graduating from Caro High School in 1985, he attended the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor where he also served as a Student Athletic Trainer for 4 1/2 years.
Jim is also actively involved with the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association and serves as the program coordinator for the "Medical Aspects" portion of the annual SCACA Coaches Clinic each July.
Jim is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Assocation, Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association, South Carolina Athletic Trainers Association, South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association, Academy for Sports Dentistry, National Education Association, South Carolina Education Association, and the Association for Curriculum and Development.
