James Steven Ignatius "Jim" Corr, MBE (born July 31, 1964) is the guitarist for the Irish folk-rock band The Corrs. He is also the eldest and the only male sibling in the group. Although he is only 5'8", he is still the tallest of the group. He also plays the Acoustic and Electric Guitars, as well as the Piano, Keyboard and Background Vocals. Jim currently holds an Irish Private Helicopter-Pilot Licence, allowing him to fly small aircraft such as his Robinson Raven R22 helicopter. He is also heavily involved with charity causes, playing at concerts to raise money for non-profit organisations and appeals such as the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, the victims of the Omagh bombing and the Prince's Trust. Jim and his sisters were also involved in the Live 8 series of concerts, performing at Edinburgh in Scotland in mid 2005 alongside Bono and other acts such as Annie Lennox, Eddie Izzard and Bob Geldof. He also performed at Nelson Mendela's 46664 concert in South Africa, to help raise awarness of the growing AIDS epidemic in Africa. Official Live 8 DVD. In November 2005, he announced his engagement to former Miss Northern Ireland Gayle Williamson. On May 10, 2006 Gayle gave birth to the couple's first child, a son named Brandon. A wedding date has yet to be announced.


Jim has also posted frequently on a fan website called "The Corrboard", which was later renamed to "The Corrs Club" after the site changed ownership in late 2005. He has spoken to individual forum members on this site (such as a fan from Australia called Wallaby) and will normally release official news on this site before it is released by the official site.
