Jiroft is located in a vast plain, Halil Rud, on the southern outskirts of the Bariz mountain chain, surrounded by two rivers. The mean elevation of the city is about 650 m above sea level. The weather of the city is very warm in summer and moderate temperature in winter, but it is cold in the highlands of the Bariz mountain, Sardu, Dalfard and Esfandegheh. The remains of the old town of Jiroft are now only a kilometre away from the current city.
